Founding Fathers Project
The Founding Fathers is a project with which I was involved in 2013 and 2014. It is a life-size recreation of John Trumbull's famous painting of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. There are 47 figures in the painting and I sculpted heads for 40 of them over a period of about eight months. The heads were then cast in resin and painted, and mounted on custom made mannequins clothed in authentic costumes. My friend and fellow artist James Van Nuys led the project, ably assisted by Julie Farrell and Leah Nixon.
